This is a set design for Shawnee Mission North High School's Theatre. I was given the chance this past summer to help research and design the set for their up and coming production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I created a process book and plans / visuals as to how the set should look based off of a realistic 19th century Fleet Street setting. The actual set varies slightly from the actual plans due to technical difficulties during the set building process, but it turned out great! I'd like to thank Maureen Davis, the Director, for giving me the opportunity to help research and design the set, and I would also like to thank Ben Bartlett for being the Tech Director on the project. He also did a great job on that chair! For anyone that didn't see the play, the chair seat collapses down and Todd's victims slide through the floor and out the back of the rotating centerpiece. It's also worth mentioning that this was one of the best productions I've seen at Shawnee Mission North in a long time! And unfortunately, when I went back to see the production I left the process book there, but once I get it back I will put pictures of it on here. Photos here of the set are courtesy of Ben Bartlett.
